Museum of Contemporary Photography Exhibit Catalog
Designer

This publication is a proposed exhibit catalog design for the past exhibit at the MoCP titled “Traversing the Past,” which was on display in early 2017. The show displayed work from three artists all covering the subjects of self-identity, heritage, and contemporary politics.
This 16-page saddle-stitched publication measures at 8 inches by 8 inches when closed,
Scope of work included layout design and handlettering.
The art direction of this catalog was influenced by the concept of a family photobook, complete with annotations about who, where, and when these memories are associated with. Handwritten text contribute to the guest's connection to the exhibit itself, inviting the viewer to step into the stories that the artists have documented.

The catalog was built on a 6x6 grid. This kept the pacing of images and text consistent throughout the publication while each page was able to retain a unique architecture with a rigid foundation.
